A Dangerous History of Failure

Federal Pacific Electric Company, also known as FPE, once dominated the electrical panel industry.  Millions of American homes have Federal Pacific breaker boxes. Most of these FPE panels were built between 1950 and 1980.

A serious problem has developed over the years is that Federal Pacific circuit breakers stop working with age. Everything is fine for years and suddenly a breaker fails. No one knows a breaker could fail until it does fail. And a failure could mean a disaster for your family.

Even a power surge occurring during a thunderstorm could cause a breaker to overheat. Combustion and choking smoke with deadly fumes could be the result.

And just to add to the seriousness of the issue, Federal Pacific was sued and found guilty under the Consumer Fraud Act. It seems that FPE, without a doubt knew they were distributing a seriously faulty product.
